We all live busy lives trying to juggle family life, work and socializing with friends. We can become discontented, overburdened or just plain lackadaisical. Quite often we need a little inspiration to lift us up and move us forward. So what inspires you, and do you recognize inspiration when it appears?
Sometimes inspiration jumps right out in front of us, clear as day. However, once in a while we need to go find it. When it does present itself we must embrace it and let it fuel our soul.
I find inspiration in the actions of loved ones, in listening to a heartfelt speech, by witnessing an act of kindness and when conversing with an everyday hero. Inspiration appears when I’m purchasing a greeting card, or watching a compelling film or reading a true story about overcoming adversity.
And surely you’ve seen inspiration disguised as words of wisdom. Just walk into any retail store and inspiration will jump out at you in the home décor department, you know, where the “sayings” plaques are displayed. “Everything Imaginable is Attainable”… “Do More of What Makes You Happy”… “Always Believe in Yourself”… “Be YOU-nique” and “We Rise By Lifting Others.” So however or wherever you find your inspiration, appreciate its timing and significance.
Here are a few quotes that may inspire you:
“You get in life what you have the courage to ask for.” – Oprah Winfrey
“A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.” – Phyllis Diller
“Courage is the commitment to begin without any guarantee of success.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’M POSSIBLE’!” – Audrey Hepburn
